THE BRIEF

The brand brings under the same roof two worlds that seemed forever destined to be polar opposites: BBQ and Vegan dining. Primal, simple, proud, brave and unpretentious Char Bar has been developed as a dual-brand with different locations specialising in grilling meat or veggies, dropping all the political agendas to follow only one goal... cooking, tasty, with fire.

THE STORY

Now we are cooking with fire.

The Char Bar is a restaurant that doesn’t mess around. It knows what it’s doing, and know that it’s doing it damn right. It knows that fire is not a pet you can tame, but more like a beast you need to work with. Rules,  timings, recipes, are all second to feelings when you cook with fire, as every pit is different and only the pit master knows how to play with heat. Before you had BBQ’s but now... “Now we are cooking with fire”.

There are no stereotypes in this kitchen: it’s not a man cave, it’s not a carnivore den, there is no cooking “by the book”...its the simplest and best form of cooking with fire, and having fun with it. Meat and veggies play on the same field, charring roasting and grilling, to create the ultimate BBQ experience.

The graphic identity supports the brand positioning, by focusing on written messages and BBQ imagery styled in irregular letter-type compositions and enhanced by irregular shapes, to reiterate the dynamic and irregular practice of cooking with fire.
